1. Navigating Excel with the Mouse
Basic Mouse Navigation
✔ Click – Select a cell.
✔ Double-click – Edit cell contents.
✔ Right-click – Open context menu (cut, copy, paste, formatting).
✔ Drag & Drop – Move or copy cells.
Scrolling with the Mouse
- Mouse Wheel → Scroll up/down.
- Shift + Mouse Wheel → Scroll left/right.
- Click + Drag Scrollbar → Fast vertical/horizontal movement.
Zooming with the Mouse
- Ctrl + Mouse Wheel → Zoom in/out.
- View → Zoom Slider (Bottom-right corner).

Using Scroll Features
Scroll Lock Mode (Rarely Used)
- Turn On/Off → Press Scroll Lock (ScrLk) key.
- When enabled:
- Arrow keys scroll the sheet instead of moving the active cell.
- Useful for viewing large datasets without losing selection.
Touchpad / Trackpad Scrolling
- Two-finger scroll → Vertical/horizontal movement.
- Ctrl + Two-finger scroll → Zoom in/out.
Custom Scroll Bars
- Right-click scrollbar → Adjust scrolling speed.
- Drag scrollbar → Fast navigation.
